News
With gong training, Yin & Kundalini workshops, July was a busy month – here’s our news.
Logo
You might have noticed we have a new look. I have been whining about our logo for years! I never really liked it but there have been so many aborted attempts at changing it, I’d pretty much given up.
Babacool is the French word for hippy or daddy-cool. To me, the logo had to be a character, like a cross between Jerry Garcia and Sai Baba. After a strange twist of fate we cracked it in about 24 hours. We have the wonderful Tim Leete of Creative Meld to thank for deciphering and making the ideas in my head real. We hope it will breathe new life into the business and bring much needed colour and youth.
Gong Training News
This was the most fun we’ve had in ages. For two days we took over Carrisbrook Hall in Marble Arch and played gong with a wonderful group of students. It was the hottest weekend of the year and moving 27 gongs, stands, recording equipment and much more into Central London was an arduous task, but soon forgotten. It was wonderful to spend time with like-minded gongsters, to share our love of playing gongs and to see people blossom into talented players. Thank you to everyone who came along and congratulations to our new Gongsters -Linda C, Jane and Linda P (Level 1) – Emma, Suresh, Paula, Julie, and Mario (Level 1 and 2). Covid meant a couple of people were unable to join the training – we were pleased to be able to offer them a private Level 1 training closer to home. So congratulations also to Rowena and Farzana!
Our next training will run on the 2nd and 3rd October in Marble Arch. It’s open to everyone with a curiosity about gongs and love of sound. Email (info@babacool.net) to register your interest.
Yin Workshop
This was so well-attended & really special for me. After 12 months of teaching via Zoom (which has its merits) it was great once again to lead a big group in person, to share energy & hold space. The theme was moving from Yang to Yin – we had posture interwoven with gong and spoken word. The gong bath straight after the workshop doubled the relaxation. Thank you Susie for the photos.
Kundalini and Gong Workshop
One of my favourite combinations, Kundalini & Gong together boosts prana exponentially making the experience memorable. I’m so grateful to everyone who supported this event on the 24th July. More dates to follow.
Gong Baths
The gong baths continue to sell out – we are so grateful to be back gonging and thank you all for supporting the events. The following dates are for sale via the website:
There is a gong bath following the Yin Workshop in Woolmer Green on the 26th September – this is currently only available to those booking onto the Workshop.
TRE News
The online shaking community grows and it is an absolute pleasure to be guiding you all through really profound healing. The sessions run online Monday evenings from 17.15 to 18.45 – they tend to be every 2 or 3 weeks – you can find dates and book here. I know that some of you would prefer to check this out in person so I will be running small group sessions over the next few months as a way of introducing the practise to more of you. The first of these will be on the 25th September from 10-12 in Woolmer Green – only 4 spaces available, let me know if you’re interested.
Online Classes
For the moment I’m continuing with the online format as there hasn’t been so much demand to return to the class setting. If this changes then of course I will consider hiring a space again (so please let me know). Alex re-started in person Qigong back in May, however attendance was really low and meant it was costing us money to run. The Qigong sessions have thus been temporarily suspended and will hopefully start back (albeit in a different form) in the Autumn.
I will be taking a physical break from teaching from the 13th until the 30th August. And again from the 6th to the 10th September. I’m giving everyone with the Members Package extra dates to make up for it. That’s it for our news for now – wishing you all a wonderful August.
