September Reading List 2026
Five books to ease you into late Summer, from a celebration of craft to the forest from a witch’s perspective to vegan patisserie.
1/ James Fox – Craftland
A beautiful, inspiring book that chronicles the artisans and craftspeople of the UK, both historically & currently. The antidote to modernity.
2/ Philip Khoury – Beyond Baking
Vegan baking from an award winning pastry chef. He takes classics and amends them for vegans. It’s a beautiful book and whilst the photos look elaborate, the recipes are often straightforward.
3/ Sandra Lawrence – The Witch’s Forest
From a series of books from Kew, beautifully illustrated and full of facts and stories about forests, tree species. I absolutely love this book.
4/ Anne Heigham – The Ayurveda Kitchen
Learn how to eat to balance your doshas, stoke your digestive fire (agni), and maximise prana or energy. A yogic approach to nutrition that maximises your chance to live a peaceful, meditative life.
5/ Jay Shetty – The 8 Rules of Love
How to love yourself, others and the world by doing the work. The rules are drawn from Vedic (yogic) texts and provide a framework to address your own issues before you take them out on others!
